Warm and welcoming
Impromptu visit to round off an evening out. Outside it was rainy and cold, but the restaurant was warm and cosy. Very few diners were in, and so the room was quiet. We enjoyed attentive service and thoroughly enjoyed our meals and drinks. Will definitely be back.

Excellent food and professional staff. We booked for New Years Eve in the restaurant and saw the New Year in from there. The two young ladies served us all night and were exceptional. One of them took us over to the hotel as we hadnt been to our room yet. This was way past midnight.

Coped well with large group
In the main, out visit to The Cheshire Cat went very well. We were a party of 22, and had pre-ordered our breakfasts, many of which were variations on the menu. This was coped with very well - the food was freshly cooked, and mainly accurate. However, we did not get our hot drinks until well after we finished eating, and some of them were cold. When we asked where they were, we were told that there were only 2 members of staff on duty and they were ‘doing their best’. Whilst we appreciate that this was difficult, having made the booking well in advance, perhaps 1 more member of staff could have been available? Overall, a positive experience, with this one suggestion to improve.

Great surroundings with very eclectic feel. Staff lovely too. Food was a mix of feedback with our group but overall tasty and acceptable. I did enjoy the shin of beef.

Quality at Christmas
We’ve been coming to The Cheshire Cat for nearly 23 years and it’s still a great place. The staff are attentive and welcoming. The food is of a good standard and very filling. The Beef and Ale pie was full of good quality beef and there was plenty of it.

Great location, helpful staff, excellent meal
We booked to celebrate a 70th birthday shortly before Christmas. We were offered a secluded area of the pub which gave us privacy but also atmosphere. Staff were helpful both as we organised and on the day. Meals were delicious and all good value for money. Thanks everyone for making this a special celebration at a busy time of year. Our first visit to The Cat but it won't be our last!!

Lovely Christmas experience
